Ever since blogs started to become a thing, everyone kept trying to find ways to promote them as much as they could. We started without knowing what we're doing, following the old guidelines, and trying to make a name for ourselves.
Nowadays, it became a business with fantastic potential. If you play your cards right you can actually live your life happily by maintaining a blog. You can travel the world and taking the time to post the updates. But, in order to get there, you need to start from somewhere.
Whether you have a business or you are a simple person trying to start creating an empire for yourself, blogging is the way to go. People read a lot, and they will keep doing it as long as the internet is up and running.
Anyway, let's see now how you can increase your blog traffic(and sales) by using the right methods.
How To Increase Your Blog Traffic
Create Great Content
I'm not saying good, I'm saying GREAT. People need to get some sort of value from following you, and that's what your content should do. You need to learn how to create, structure, and optimize your content in order to promote that image you're craving.
If you have problems creating the content, but you have amazing ideas, it would be a great idea to hire a freelancer or agency to do the writing for you. As I always say, you need to invest in yourself if you want to succeed. Another thing you can do is to only hire an editor to go through your texts. You can keep original, but have everything analyzed by an expert.
It's ok to have doubts sometimes, but it's also very good to ask for opinions and feedback when it comes to your texts. Ask your friends, family or a professional to give you constructive criticism.
Optimize Your Content
Now that your content is great, you need to make sure it's optimized too. You need your readers to be able to find you through the search engines. You can achieve this, by having a good keyword strategy.
If you're just beginning, I suggest you start by trying to rank keywords with a search volume of about 200 and low competition. It's going to help you rank better than if you directly choose one with over 100,000 keys. It's only natural that the authoritative websites will reach the first pages way before you do.
Keep in mind that not only your blogs need to be optimized, but your pages and images too. Visuals are a very important aspect, as they basically give away the topic before your visitor starts reading.
Besides that, if you correctly optimize their file names and alt tags, you will have you chance of being found in an image search, which will definitely boost your traffic.
You need to have everything in place and running for when you make the grand opening. If you skip this optimization, you're completely giving away any chance of being found on any Google page. Simple as that.
Use Social Media
Most times, bloggers are not using social media at its full potential. There is a whole new world out there and you need to take everything it has to offer.
For starters, you should know how every engine works in order for this to work. Facebook is in my opinion, the easiest platform. It has a lot of groups you can join, a lot of sharing opportunities and it's very easy to share a post. You simply write a compelling caption and add your blog link. It will automatically create a snippet for you.
With Instagram and Pinterest, things get a little more complicated. If you want your posts to reach an audience, you need very good images. Create your custom graphics, or hire someone to do it for you.
They need to be engaging, they need to be interesting, and they need to make the people want to read your captions. In the captions, you can simply give out a part of the article, or create your own custom text and a call to action to read the blog.
On Instagram, you will also need to do your hashtag research. Find those tags that have a decent amount of searches for your niche and place them in your caption or first comment.
After you went through all these steps, you can start promoting your posts and reach even bigger. These platforms have very smart advertising systems, and it's important that you use them accordingly. I suggest you do a thorough research before you start investing good money in it. You need to target the people who would be interested in what you are doing.
Before I wrote this blog, I researched and tried many methods, and I reached once again the conclusion that everything is relative. It's all a matter of how you do it and when you do it. I'm not going to promise you that everything will change overnight if you follow these steps, but I can definitely say that you WILL see an improvement if you do it right.
By doing everything I mentioned above I managed to get over 200 daily hits after two weeks of blogging. Do the math and see what I mean. In the meantime, feel free to follow me on Instagram, where I constantly create content in order to help YOU create, maintain, and GROW your blog!
